While social media has helped us to connect with people worldwide, there are some downsides as well.

Recently, a research from San Diego University stated that teenagers who spent a lot of time in front of screen devices, be it playing games, using social media, texting or video calling, are less happy than those teens who spend most of their times doing other non-screen activities like sports, reading magazines, and face-to-face social interaction.

The research also concluded that the happiest teenagers are the ones who used digital media for less than an hour per day and the more screen time a teen has, the more unhappy they are. Overall, kids should still be doing kids things like running around, laughing out loud, exploring the surroundings etc and not looking at a screen 24/7.
