Standing desks have been around for quite some time and have been proven to increase efficiency in the workplace and are good for your health as well because sitting down for too long is not good for your body. 

Research from Texas A&M University found out that students’ cognitive functioning improves when using standing desks. In the study, participants were freshmen from the university and were split into two groups where one would stand throughout the lessons for the whole year while the other would sit. 

At the end of the year, results showed that students who use standing desks throughout lessons had significant improvements in cognitive abilities such as analysing, time management, memorising, understanding comprehension, problem solving and organising their thoughts. Hence, researchers do recommend the usage of standing desks, be it for studying or for work.
