We might not be there yet for the flying cars. But automobile companies are rolling out electric cars. And researchers at Harvard have created a car battery that can last for 20 years.
This battery can finish charging in three minutes and can last up to 20 years. Currently, the lithium-ion batteries in the market will degrade over time and last up to seven or eight years depending on how much they are being used. And to replace them will cost thousands of pounds. But now, with this new lithium-metal battery, which is only the size of a palm, will be able to sustain longer and thus, require no replacement of batteries.
Who knows one day, these batteries will be used to power many things in our daily lives including our smartphones. That way, every purchase of your smartphones can be used for 20 years or more without needing a single charge.
