As we get older, we tend to become more self-aware of our health. And an Australian research has suggested ways on how you can be more healthy with your daily habits.
According to researchers, being stationary for too long in a day raises the risk of numerous health problems including weight gain, type 2 diabetes, cancer etc. Hence, researchers introduced a formula to keep us healthy.
The formula requires each individual to sit for 2 hours and 10 minutes, stand for 5 hours 10 minutes, sleep for 8 hours 20 minutes, do light physical activities for 2 hours 10 minutes and moderate to vigorous physical activity for 5 hours 10 minutes every day. Light physical activities include household chores or making dinner or just some walks whereas vigorous physical activity should be like working out at the gym, brisk walking or running or even aerobic exercises.
The idea is to encourage people to not sit down and just stay in the same position for the rest of the day. Of course, the researchers also remind everyone that the data is only a recommendation and we’re all different human beings with different capabilities.
