Looks like there’s a new car in the race, trying to be the next gen flying car. A California automobile company, Alef Aeronautics has unveiled its first fully electric car with a mesh-covered body that conceals eight propellers.

The vehicle named The Alef Model A has propellers that replace the traditional car motors allowing it to take off straight up into the air from a conventional road without the need for any runway space and once airborne, it tilts 90 degrees so that the top of the car is facing forward and then proceeds to fly through the air at speed up to 418 kilometres per hour.

Alef Aeronautics also said that the car will be ready to be released into the market by 2025. And the cost for each car will cost about RM1,500,000. However, the company also said the vehicle can only take off in “whitelisted” areas that have been approved by the traffic and air authorities.

Let’s see if the company can really make this futuristic car ready by 2025.
