When we were little, one of the most common childhood memories that we have is building paper airplanes and seeing whose airplanes can fly the longest distance. However, who would have thought that there would be a record for the world’s farthest flight by paper aircraft.
On April 16th, our 24-year-old Malaysian, Julian Chee Yie Jian, along with 3 of his South Korean friends, Kim Kyu Te and Shin Moo Joon, earned the Guinness World Record for the furthest flight by a paper aircraft in Daegu, South Korea. Julian’s paper plane flew a distance of 77.134 meters beating the previous record of 69.14 meters held by Americans John Collins and Joe Ayoob back in 2012.
Who would have thought that there is a world record for longest distance by paper plane. Well, maybe you can start thinking about building the best paper airplane.
