Researches have shown that living and working in the cities have been associated with higher levels of mental health disorders compared to those who live in the rural areas. According to the 2012 meta-analysis, those who live in cities had an increased risk for schizophrenia.
But not to worry, a new study stated that just by spending 60 minutes walking in nature decreases activity in brain regions involved in stress processing resulting in a calmer and more emotionally stable individual. This study was done by researchers from the Lise Meitner Group for Environmental Neuroscience. So try to go for walks in the park or in nature once or twice a week.
