Smartphones are getting more and more powerful. In the future, all your needs will be available on your smartphone. Even for doctors. Last week, there was news about researchers developing a software that can be used as an oximeter.
And now, a new app is in the works by researchers which can be used to replace the traditional stethoscope. This app only requires you to place your device’s microphone to your chest and it will be able to record your heartbeat and also the sounds of valves in between which could reveal if someone has a heart murmur or atrial fibrillation. The app has recorded an 80 per cent success rate in recording someone’s heartbeat accurately.
Of course more research is needed but I’m pretty sure, it’s only a matter of time before this app is commercially used.
