Tik Tok is the number one app right now, dominating the social media market. And while it’s getting more and more popular, a security researcher claims that Tik Tok can secretly track your web activity.
Software engineer Felix Krausse reported that Tik Tok can track users’ screen taps when they visit other sites through the app itself. Meaning, when you open a website from within Tik Tok, they can observe every keyboard input which may contain your sensitive information or even your private financial details. Tik Tok has code to observe all taps, like clicking on any buttons or links. And because of this, it became a rising concern among cyber security specialists. Australia has issued a statement saying they might ban the app.
However, a Tik Tok spokesperson also said that the report is incorrect and misleading.
