Augmented Reality (AR) is the new science that many tech companies are focusing on. And with AR comes smart glasses.
And now, an AR glass company named Nreal, launched a new pair of glasses called XRAI Glass which enables the deaf or those who suffer from hearing loss. These special glasses use augmented reality to transform audio into captions that are instantly projected in front of the wearer’s eyes. The CEO of the company said, “We are so proud of the ability of this innovative technology to enrich the lives of people who are deaf and have hearing loss, so that they can maximise their potential. Whether that means being able to have a conversation while continuing to make dinner or keeping a conversation going while walking with a friend”. With the new voice recognition capabilities, the glasses can even identify who’s speaking and will soon be able to translate languages, voice tones, accents and pitch.
Nevertheless, this technology can definitely help out a lot of people and will make people with hearing loss more included in the community.
