Science time, so we know that Carbon Dioxide is one of the reasons for global warming. And a group of Dutch student engineers from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands designed a car that can suck up carbon dioxide.

This carbon-neutral electric car which has been named Zem can store up to 30g of carbon dioxide as it drives around and filters it and releases clean air back to the environment. The students also took in consideration of the car’s material and so it is largely recyclable and has interiors made from sustainable pineapple leather and recycled plastic. The car also has a solar panel on the roof.

Experts said that if this technology was to be rolled out to the millions of cars on the road around the world then it has the potential to make a real contribution to reducing greenhouse gases. Kudos to the students for thinking innovatively!
